I have heard many times that this year has been bad. I have also heard worse words to describe it. At best, I've heard that this year has been “different”. I think they are all right, it has been one year out of the ordinary. Many people have lost relatives due to the disease and others have lost their jobs due to the economic crisis. If you ask me, everyone is right. For us, it has been a year that has affected our plans. However, at the same time, it has brought many blessings. I think if we evaluate 2020 on a scale of 1 to 10, each one will say a different number. The truth is that each one of us perceives this year in a different way based on our own experiences. It is "our truth" to say how 2020 was, this truth is something relative and subjective. The reality is that the world is full of "truths" or points of view. But there is a place where we can find the absolute truth: the Bible.

Months ago I thought that in November I was going to write about giving thanks. I was going to tell you about everything that God has done in our life this year. But, that's not going to convince anyone that it was a good year. Instead, I decided to focus on something that I know is going to help everyone understand that 2020 was not as bad as it seems. Here are the absolute truths that we find in the Bible, the word of God.

Lamentations 3: 22-24 NLT

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!

His mercies never cease.

Great is his faithfulness;

his mercies begin afresh each morning.

I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;

therefore, I will hope in him!”

The goodness of God is renewed every morning. No matter what happened yesterday, whether it was a good or bad day,t he goodness and mercies of the Lord are new every day. It is not a continuation of yesterday, it is not the goodness of 2020 , it's new! And what are those benefits of God? That He is always faithful, that He is the only thing that we will not lose, everything else can come and go, but He will not go away. And that is enough.

Romans 11:36

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

Nothing that is happening escapes the will and power of God, although many of the situations are consequences of our own actions. God will use all to glorify Himself and bring love and salvation.

Ephesians 2: 4-5 NLT

4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

If there is one thing we can thank God for this year, this day and every day, it is that He gave us salvation. Forgive our faults, our mistakes, those of 1995, those of 2010, those of 2020 and those of 2025. This is something we do not deserve, but even so He did it, and it gives us hope, and for this reason our gaze is no longer on our problems, but in doing his will, and sharing his love with others.

Philippians 4: 6-7

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

God listens to us and knows our requests, He knows that some of us have gone through difficult times. But, He tells us to not worry about anything. And it is that we have to have faith that He is in control. We have faith that He knows our hearts and that His wisdom is infinite and that He is merciful. His promise is that He will give us His peace. What better way to end this 2020 with peace in our hearts. There is no promise that 2021 is going to be a better year, but there is a promise that we can have peace if we trust Him.

Some important things have happened in our ministry this month. First, we had the opportunity to speak with our church about supporting us financially, and Glory to God they decided to support us and put us one step closer to Mongolia. I think that more important than financial support is the support and backing we feel from our community to be able to go to Mongolia. So, thank you.

Dar Gracias

He oído muchas veces que este año ha sido malo, también he oído palabras peores para describirlo. En el mejor de los casos he oído que este año ha sido “diferente”. Creo que todos tienen razón, un año fuera de lo normal, muchas personas han perdido familiares por la enfermedad, otros han perdido el trabajo por la crisis económica. Si me preguntan a mi, todos tienen razón, para nosotros ha sido un año que ha afectado nuestros planes, pero al mismo tiempo ha traído muchas bendiciones. Creo que si evaluamos el 2020 en una escala del 1 al 10 cada uno dirá un número diferente. Porque la verdad, cada uno de nosotros lo percibe de una manera diferente y basado en nuestra experiencia. Es “nuestra verdad” el decir como fue el 2020, es algo relativo y subjetivo. La realidad es que el mundo está lleno de “verdades” o puntos de vista. Pero hay un lugar en el que podemos encontrar la verdad absoluta. Y es la Biblia.

Hace meses pensé que en Noviembre iba a escribir acerca de dar gracias. E iba a contar acerca de todo lo que Dios ha hecho en nuestra vida este año. Pero, eso no va a convencer a nadie de que fue un buen año. En cambio decidí concentrarme en algo que se que va a ayudar a todos a entender de que el 2020 no fue tan malo como parece. Verdades absolutas que encontramos en la Biblia, la palabra de Dios.

Lamentaciones 3:22-24

El gran amor del Señor nunca se acaba, y su compasión jamás se agota. Cada mañana se renuevan sus bondades; ¡muy grande es su fidelidad! Por tanto, digo: El Señor es todo lo que tengo. ¡En él esperaré!

Las bondades de Dios se renuevan cada mañana, no importa lo que pasó ayer, sí fue un dia bueno o malo, las bondades o misericordias del Señor son nuevas cada dia, no es una continuación de la de ayer, no es la bondad del 2020, es nueva! Y cuales son esas bondades de Dios? Que Él es fiel siempre, que El es lo único que no vamos a perder, todo lo demás puede ir y venir, pero Él no se irá. Y eso es suficiente.

Romanos 11:36

Porque todas las cosas proceden de él, y existen por él y para él. ¡A él sea la gloria por siempre! Amén.

Nada de lo que está pasando escapa de la voluntad o el poder de Dios, si bien muchas de las situaciones son consecuencias de nuestras propias acciones, Dios usará todo esto para glorificarse y traer amor y salvación.

Efesios 2:4-5

Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su gran amor por nosotros, nos dio vida con Cristo, aun cuando estábamos muertos en pecados. ¡Por gracia ustedes han sido salvados!

Si hay algo de lo que podemos dar gracias a Dios este año, este día y todos los días, es que nos dio salvación. Perdona nuestras faltas, nuestros errores, las de 1995, las del 2010, las del 2020 y las del 2025. Esto es algo que no merecemos, pero aun así lo hizo, y nos da esperanza, y por esto nuestra mirada ya no está en nuestros problemas, sino en hacer su voluntad, y compartir su amor con otros.

Filipenses 4:6-7

No se inquieten por nada; más bien, en toda ocasión, con oración y ruego, presenten sus peticiones a Dios y denle gracias. Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, cuidará sus corazones y sus pensamientos en Cristo Jesús

Dios nos escucha y sabe nuestras peticiones, Él sabe que algunos hemos pasado por tiempos difíciles. Pero nos dice, no se inquieten por nada. Y es que tenemos que tener fe que Él está en control, que Él conoce nuestro corazones, que su sabiduría es infinita y que Él es misericordioso. Y la promesa de esto es que nos dará su paz, y qué mejor manera de terminar este 2020 con paz en nuestro corazón. No hay una promesa de que el 2021 va a ser un mejor año, pero hay una promesa de que podemos tener paz si confiamos en Él.

En nuestro ministerio este mes han pasado algunas cosas importantes. Primero, tuvimos la oportunidad de hablar con nuestra iglesia acerca de apoyarnos financieramente, y Gloria a Dios decidieron apoyarnos y ponernos un paso más cerca de Mongolia. Creo que más importante que el apoyo económico, es el apoyo y respaldo que sentimos de nuestra comunidad para poder ir a Mongolia.
