How was it to serve in the dorms of Winona State University

ree

It couldn’t have been more clear that I was suppose to be part of a christian community because God literally put a bible study in my house. As students flooded my small college town, I was struggling to find my place during my second year of college. It wasn’t that I hadn’t tried, I was active in a sorority and working hard at my studies, but I felt something was wrong and something was missing and I just couldn’t hold on to real friendships. There, in the big blue house on the corner, I felt like I was stuck. But then, there was a knock on my door. There in front of me stood a girl with a smile and an invitation to come downstairs.

That was the first time I was invited to an Intervarsity Community Group where we studied the bible, became friends and could be honest to each other. God used Intervarsity to transform my life and to push me out of my comfort zone. It was at fall conference that God called me to do the same as He had done for me and called me to meet others where they were at. Before I knew it, me, a 5th year senior, moved into the freshman dorms, and invited my peers to live in community. In that time of witnessing on campus, the Lord was faithful and He held true to his word and truly was with me wherever I went.

Joshua 1:9

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
