Hello everyone! It's been a while since our last newsletter. Since December to be exact. Since January we have been in Costa Rica, and since then there are now many more people reading our newsletter. Praise God!
We've been very busy, but honestly that wasn't the main reason we haven't sent out the newsletter in the last 3 months. But the last 3 months has been a time that I preferred to tell you everything in full and not in pieces.
On January 12th we arrived in Costa Rica to do our first “Furlough”. Furlough is the time for missionaries when they go to their country of origin to rest, visit family, meet with supporters, seek new support, do paperwork and errands. It is our first time doing this and we did not know what awaited us, especially that we have to visit two countries of origin. We want to tell you a little about our time and experience in these 2 and a half months in Costa Rica.
First conclusion. What a long trip! We traveled for 51 hours from the time we left Mongolia until landing in Costa Rica. But after 4 flights we made it.
Second conclusion. How hot! Going from -30°C to 30°C and from 30% to 90% humidity is shocking.
After adjusting to arrival and actually getting sick right away. We were ready to start. The number 1 priority was to renew my (Dani) American visa. That had me very worried. During the process of scheduling the appointment there were many problems and I was very anxious. Finally, the day came to send my passport to the embassy. After this, one day we were with some friends who told me about their experiences renewing their visa. This made me even more nervous, because they told me that the embassy took more than 2 months to return the passport. They knew people whose jobs sent letters to the embassy to ask to speed up the process... And even with that it didn’t speed up the process. Well, the processing of my visa lasted a week. My Boss has more influence than any boss in any company. That brought us great relief for the rest of the trip.
One of the biggest conclusions I take away from this time is: how different Mongolia and Costa Rica are. And so this is to all the people who have asked me in this time how they are different: I have told many that the two countries don't feel like different countries... They feel like different planets, especially with that 51-hour trip. The climate, the geography, the vegetation, the language, the culture, how the people look, the houses, the streets, everything is different. Some things we like more about Costa Rica and some things more about Mongolia. We are going to miss some things from Costa Rica and we have missed others from Mongolia.
What we have definitely enjoyed the most and what we will miss the most is our family. Although I love everyone in my family very much... My nephews are the ones I appreciate the most, they are very different from each other but as an uncle I have always felt a responsibility to be close to them. The other member of the family that we are going to miss very much is Gringo... Our cat who we left with my parents. Since the moment we arrived he recognized us and has spent all the time with us. We have been able to see some of my extended family such as grandparents, uncles and cousins. But we couldn't see some others due to lack of time and also because they live all over Costa Rica. I also couldn't see many friends, but could see others. Some once, and others several times.
This time has been very productive, the truth is that before we went to Mongolia it was very difficult for people to understand that we were not crazy and that it was God who was sending us. Many people were skeptical when we told them about Mongolia. We tried to reach out to some churches before we moved in 2022 in order to talk about the ministry but the doors were closed. However, in these past months we didn’t even have time to go and share at all the places and with all the people we wanted to! What a difference!
We had the opportunity to share about our ministry in 5 churches, to preach in 3 of those churches, we did a workshop in 1 church, and we shared in a Christian school 2 times. Many more people in Costa Rica now know about the country of Mongolia and what God is doing there.
On this trip we had the need to look for a little more monthly supporters for the ministry and raise funds to buy a car which we hope will lead us to a new stage in our ministry and be able to go deeper with specific populations and work on the plan to create a discipleship network throughout Mongolia. Honestly, when we have gone to share in churches, our priority is for people to know and see what God is doing on the other side of the world and for His name to be glorified. That is the goal of our ministry in Mongolia, our ministry in Costa Rica and our ministry in the United States.
Revelation 7:9-10
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
We have been focused on sharing with our friends, family, church and supporters what God is doing in Mongolia. Also with churches and new people. And God has done the rest. People have joined the ministry and are now also part of what God is doing both financially and in prayer. God has also provided people who have donated for the car, for the toys at the daycare in Mongolia, and extra expenses that we have had in these months. He has put people who have helped us with procedures or problems. God makes everything possible.
One goal I had on this trip was to raise funds to buy a new camera for our ministry which is also needed to use in the organization... Well, God, who is so wonderful, quickly took care of that. And in the first two weeks here I already had a new camera. The camera I have in Mongolia has helped me to be able to take a lot of pictures but it is not very good for videos. The truth is the original camera was a gift, the drone I have in Mongolia had also been a gift... God takes care of everything.
We are about to leave Costa Rica to continue our trip to the United States for 5 weeks before leaving again for Mongolia. These coming weeks are going to be very busy too. We really enjoyed our time in Costa Rica. How beautiful is my country! We are excited to go to the United States and we are also looking forward to being in Mongolia again. It is difficult to be here and know that we are missing everything that is happening in Mongolia.

¡Hola a todos! Ha pasado un tiempo desde nuestro último boletín. Desde Diciembre para ser exactos. Desde Enero hemos estado en Costa Rica, y desde ese entonces ahora hay muchas más personas leyendo nuestro boletín.
Hemos estado muy ocupados, pero honestamente esa no fue la principal razón por la que no hemos mandado el boletín en los últimos 3 meses. Sino que los últimos 3 meses han sido una etapa que prefería contarla completa y no en pedazos.
El 12 de Enero llegamos a Costa Rica a hacer nuestro primer “Furlough”. En español no hay una palabra para esto. Pero para explicarlo es el tiempo de los misioneros en que van a su país de origen a descansar, visitar familia, reunirse con apoyantes, buscar apoyo, hacer trámites y mandados. Es nuestra primera vez haciendo esto, no sabíamos que nos esperaba, más que tenemos que visitar dos países de origen. Y les queremos contar un poco de nuestro tiempo y experiencia en estos 2 meses y medio en Costa Rica.
Primera conclusión. ¡Que viaje más largo! Duramos 51 horas desde que salimos de Mongolia y llegamos a Costa Rica. Pero luego de 4 vuelos lo logramos.
Segunda conclusión. ¡Qué calor! Pasar de -30°C a 30°C y de 30% a 90% de humedad no es nada fácil.
Luego de asimilar el viaje y enfermarme apenas llegamos. Estábamos listos para empezar. La prioridad número 1 era renovar mi visa americana. Eso me tenía muy preocupado. Durante el proceso de agendar la cita hubo muchos problemas y me tenía muy ansioso. Finalmente el día llegó para mandar mi pasaporte a la embajada. Luego de esto un día estábamos con unos amigos que me contaron sus experiencias renovando la visa. Esto me puso aún más nervioso, porque me dijeron que la embajada duró más de 2 meses en devolver el pasaporte. Conocían personas que sus trabajos mandaron cartas a la embajada para acelerar el proceso… Y ni así duraron menos. Bueno, pues el trámite de mi visa duró una semana. El jefe mío tiene más influencia que cualquier jefe de cualquier empresa. Eso nos trajo gran alivio para el resto del viaje.
Una de las conclusiones más grandes que me llevo de este tiempo es: que diferentes son Mongolia y Costa Rica. A todas las personas que me han preguntado en este tiempo como son diferentes. Les he dicho que no se sienten como países diferentes… Se sienten como planetas diferentes, más con ese viaje de 51 horas. El clima, la geografía, la vegetación, el idioma, la cultura, como se ve la gente, las casas, las calles, todo es diferente. Algunas cosas nos gustan más de Costa Rica y algunas de Mongolia. Vamos a extrañar algunas cosas de Costa Rica y nos hace falta otras de Mongolia.
Definitivamente lo que más hemos disfrutado y más nos va a hacer falta es nuestra familia. Aunque a todos en mi familia los amo muchísimo… Mis sobrinos son los que más aprecio, son muy diferentes entre ellos pero como tío siempre he sentido una responsabilidad de ser cercano a ellos. El otro miembro de la familia que nos va a hacer mucha falta es a Gringo… Nuestro gato que quedó con mis padres. Desde que llegamos él nos reconoció y ha pasado con nosotros todo el tiempo. Hemos podido ver a algunos de mi familia extendida como abuelos, tíos y primos. Y a algunos otros no los pudimos ver por falta de tiempo y también porque viven por toda Costa Rica. A muchos amigos también no pude ver, y a otros si los pude ver. A algunos una vez, y a otros varias veces.
Este tiempo ha sido muy productivo, la verdad que antes de irnos a Mongolia fue muy difícil que las personas entendieran que no estábamos locos y que era Dios que nos estaba mandando. Muchas personas estaban escépticas cuando les contábamos de Mongolia y tratamos de hablar del ministerio en algunas iglesias pero las puertas se cerraban. En cambio en estos meses no nos dio tiempo de visitar todas las personas e iglesias que querían saber del ministerio en Mongolia.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir en nuestro ministerio en 5 iglesias, de predicar en 3 de esas iglesias, hicimos un taller en 1 iglesia y compartimos en una escuela cristiana 2 veces. Muchas más personas en Costa Rica saben ahora del país Mongolia y de lo que Dios está haciendo allá.
En este viaje teníamos la necesidad de buscar un poco más de apoyantes mensuales para el ministerio y recaudar fondos para el carro. Que esperamos que nos lleve a una nueva etapa en nuestro ministerio y poder profundizar más con poblaciones específicas y trabajar en el plan para crear una red de discipulado en todo Mongolia. Honestamente cuando hemos ido a compartir a las iglesias nuestra prioridad es que las personas conozcan y vean lo que Dios está haciendo en el otro lado del mundo y su nombre sea glorificado. Esa es la meta de nuestro ministerio en Mongolia, nuestro ministerio en Costa Rica y nuestro ministerio en Estados Unidos.
Apocalipsis 7:9-10
Después de esto miré y apareció una multitud tomada de todas las naciones, tribus, pueblos y lenguas; era tan grande que nadie podía contarla. Estaban de pie delante del trono y del Cordero, vestidos de ropas blancas y con ramas de palma en la mano. 10 Proclamaban a gran voz:
«¡La salvación viene de nuestro Dios que está sentado en el trono y del Cordero!».
Nosotros hemos estado enfocados en compartir con nuestros amigos, familia, iglesia y apoyantes de lo que Dios está haciendo en Mongolia. También con iglesias y personas nuevas. Y Dios ha hecho el resto. Personas se han sumado al ministerio y ahora son parte también de lo que Dios está haciendo tanto económicamente como en oración. Dios también ha puesto personas que han donado para el carro, para los juguetes de la guardería en Mongolia, y gastos extra que hemos tenido en estos meses. Ha puesto personas que nos han ayudado con trámites o problemas. Dios lo hace todo posible.
Una meta que tenía en este viaje era recaudar fondos para comprar una cámara nueva para nuestro ministerio y que también es necesaria para usarla en la organización… Pues Dios que es tan maravilloso rápido se encargó de eso. Y en las primeras dos semanas aquí ya tenía cámara nueva. La cámara que tengo en Mongolia me ha servido mucho para fotografías pero no es muy buena para video, pues esa cámara había sido un regalo, el drone que tengo en Mongolia también había sido un regalo… Dios se encarga de todo.
Estamos a punto de salir de Costa Rica para seguir nuestro viaje a Estados Unidos por 5 semanas antes de partir de nuevo a Mongolia. Estas semanas que vienen van a estar muy ocupadas también. Disfrutamos mucho el tiempo en Costa Rica. ¡Qué bello es mi país! Estamos emocionados de ir a Estados Unidos y tambíen estamos deseando estar en Mongolia ya. Es difícil estar acá y saber que nos estamos perdiendo todo lo que está pasando en Mongolia.
