Hace muchos años, un hombre en Bulgaria entregó su vida a Cristo mientras su nación se alejaba del control de la Unión Soviética. Unos años después, decidió venir a Costa Rica.
Se ha convertido en nuestro buen amigo. Nuestra amistad fue fácil y personalmente pude entenderlo bien porque yo también vivo en un país en el que no crecí. Los tres nos conocimos en la iglesia y durante este último año y medio hemos pasado tiempo dentro y fuera de iglesia conectando y compartiendo historias sobre lo que Dios está haciendo en nuestras vidas. Desde el momento en que le contamos nuestros planes que Dios nos ha dado para mudarnos a Mongolia, nos ha ofrecido tanto apoyo y aliento.
La cuestión es que Mongolia y Bulgaria comparten una historia común. Ambas naciones fueron fuertemente influenciadas por la Unión Soviética en el siglo XX y aunque ninguna fue considerada parte de la Unión Soviética, ambas experimentaron los efectos del régimen comunista. El cristianismo fue ilegalizado y la represión política se generalizó entre otras complicaciones. Además, se utilizó el alfabeto cirílico para mejorar la comunicación. Estas tácticas se usaron para unir el control soviético, pero hoy Dios está usando este alfabeto para unir el cuerpo de Cristo. No puedo evitar pensar en la historia de José en Génesis 50:20.
Génesis 50:20. Tenías la intención de hacerme daño, pero Dios tuvo la intención de que fuera bueno para lograr lo que ahora se está haciendo, la salvación de muchas vidas.
Permítanme explicarles cómo Dios está usando esto para bien.
Debido a los antecedentes de nuestros amigos que usaban el alfabeto cirílico en su idioma materno, además de hablar ruso, se ofreció a enseñarnos algo que nosotros no podíamos enseñar de la misma manera. Se ofreció a enseñarnos el alfabeto cirílico.

Dato curioso: el mongol también está escrito en su propia escritura original, pero la mayoría de las veces se escribe con el alfabeto cirílico.
El domingo pasado nos reunimos para estudiar las letras y al final del día estábamos pronunciando palabras y frases.
Dios ha colocado a un número de personas así en nuestras vidas continuamente. Todo esto nos acerca un paso más a mudarnos a Mongolia y llevar el reino de Dios al pueblo de Mongolia.

Many years ago, a man in Bulgaria gave his life to Christ while his nation was transitioning away from the power of the Soviet Union. Some years later, he decided to come to Costa Rica.
He has become our good friend. Our friendship was easy and I personally could understand him well because I too am living in a country that I did not grow up in. All three of us met at church and over this past year and a half we have spent time in and outside of church connecting and sharing stories about what God is doing in our lives. From the moment we told him about our plans God has given us to move to Mongolia he has offered so much support and encouragement.
The thing is, Mongolia and Bulgaria share a common history. Both nations were strongly influenced by the Soviet Union in the 20th century and though neither were considered part of the Soviet Union they both experienced the effects of communist rule. Christianity was outlawed and political repression was widespread among other complications. Additionally, the cyrillic alphabet was used to improve communication. These tactics were used to unite Soviet control but today God is using this alphabet to unite the body of Christ. I can’t help but to think of the story of Joseph in Genesis 50:20
Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Let me explain how God is using this for good.
Because of our friends' background using the cryillic alphabet in his maternal language as well as speaking russian he offered to teach us something we could not teach ourselves in the same way. He offered to teach us the cyrillic alphabet.

Last Sunday, we met to study the letters and by the end of the day we were sounding out words and phrases.
God has placed a number of people like this in our lives continuously. All of this is bringing us one more step closer to moving to Mongolia and bringing God's kingdom to the people of Mongolia.
